Terms of Service
Last updated 21 June 2026
These terms cover your use of HootusPlootus (“Hootus”), a free Discord bot and web companion for World of Warcraft Classic guilds. By adding the bot to a server or using the web app, you agree to them.
What it is
Hootus is a free tool for running raids, signups, rosters, recruitment, and PUGs from Discord, with a web planner alongside. The core is free and intends to stay free. If a paid layer ever ships, it will only add extras on top and the everyday raid-night basics will stay free.
Adding the bot
To add Hootus you need the appropriate permissions on your Discord server. The setup wizard explains the permissions it asks for and why. You are responsible for how you configure it for your guild.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to break, overload, or probe the service.
- Do not try to access another guild’s data.
- Do not use Hootus to break Discord’s or Blizzard’s terms.
Availability
Hootus is provided as-is and as-available. Features may change, and the service may be paused or discontinued. Uptime is best-effort, with no guarantee. It is a free tool built by one person, run with care but without an SLA.
No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, Hootus is provided without warranties of any kind. You use it at your own discretion.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of Hootus is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Since Hootus is free, any liability is limited accordingly.
Ending it
You can remove the bot from your server at any time, which ends your use of the service for that server. The operator may also suspend access where these terms are broken.
Changes
If these terms change, the updated version lands here with a new date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
