Fixes, 06 Aug 2026 to 07 Aug 2026

2 New1 Improved7 Fixed

2 New

  1. Wave someone into the raid voice channel

You grabbed a replacement in-game, sent them the comms link, and nothing happened, because they were already in your Discord and a link cannot let in somebody who never left. Raid leaders now have /raid invite, which hands a live raid to anyone in the server and tells them which channel to go to. From the other side there is an I'm already in the group button, which asks a raid leader rather than letting itself in, so the door is still yours to open.

  2. Hootus tells you when an applicant has already raided with you

Somebody applies and the name rings a bell, but nobody can remember whether they pugged Serpentshrine in June or you are thinking of someone else. Hootus checks your own logs and says it plainly on the application, on the pending pug card, and on their armory page: how many of your raids they were in, how many bosses they were there for, and when you last saw them. He never says whether they were any good, that is still your call. Nothing shows if you have never raided with them.

1 Improved

  1. Raid logs now leave when the guild does

When a guild removed Hootus he tidied up after himself, except for the Warcraft Logs history, which quietly stayed behind with names and realms in it. A guild that asks to be gone should be gone. It all goes now.

7 Fixed

  1. Hootus stopped approving whoever he found first

On a connected realm several people can share a name, and Hootus was checking each realm in turn and taking the first character he found. Three different people called Tank live on one cluster, so the odds were not in your favour. He now gathers every match and, when he genuinely cannot tell which one you are, sends it to review instead of guessing. Where he already knows your realm or has seen the character before, he uses that and does not ask.

  2. A busy Blizzard stopped meaning you left the guild

When Blizzard is rate limiting, it says nothing at all rather than saying no. Hootus could not tell the difference between that and a character who had genuinely gone, so during a busy sync he could mark real members as having left. He now waits and asks again instead of hammering, and if he still cannot get an answer he leaves you exactly where you were. Nobody gets written off because a server was busy.

  3. The terms and privacy pages became readable in light mode

Both pages were rendering pale text on a pale background, which is a bold choice for the two pages people read when they want to know what you do with their data. They read properly in both themes now. The small gold labels dotted around the site had the same problem and have been darkened just enough to be legible without stopping being gold.

  4. Applications can only be sent as yourself

The web apply form took your Discord identity from the form rather than from your login, which meant a determined person could file an application wearing somebody else's name. It now reads who you are from your session and nothing else. Applying in Discord was never affected.

  5. Pugs stopped being left behind in the gather channel

Hootus worked out who to pull into the raid channel by reading the signups, which is fine until you remember that a pug who came in on the comms link often never signed up for anything. So he pulled the raiders, left the pugs sitting in the gather channel, and looked very pleased with himself. He now counts the pugs too. Anyone benched or marked absent still stays put.

  6. The sign-up invite stopped being a dead end

There are two links and Hootus was labelling one of them wrong. The sign-up invite is the one where people apply and you approve, but it was captioned as the pug comms invite, so anyone who used it landed in the server with no roles, no voice, and no idea what had gone wrong. It now says what it is and sends new arrivals a note pointing at the sign-up panel. While he was in there: a raid that had already started vanished from the apply list, so a late replacement was told there was nothing to join. Raids stay joinable until they close.

  7. Pugs in your logs stopped being nobody

Hootus only recognised a name in a raid log if it was a character somebody had registered, so pugs and friends who raided with you turned up as strangers even when they had signed up through him ten minutes earlier. He now recognises them from their signup too. Registered characters still win, and where a name genuinely could be two people he still says he does not know rather than guessing. This has no effect on what counts as a guild kill: a pug getting a name back does not make them one of yours.
