Gone Fishing

Someone always books a holiday and tells one officer in a DM. Now they tell Hootus instead: a duration, a date, or an honest 'no idea', and he keeps a pinned board of who is out and marks them absent on the raids they will miss. No roles removed, no post to hand-edit.

3 New2 Improved

3 New

  1. A holiday board that keeps itself tidy

Point Hootus at a channel and he keeps one pinned post listing who is away: back on a date, back at some point, or leaving next week. It rewrites itself the second anyone sets or clears away, so no more editing that message every time someone books a holiday.

  2. Officers hear about it without watching the board

Turn on away changes and Hootus drops a line in the officer channel whenever someone marks themselves away or comes back, with the dates and the reason. Point it somewhere else if the officer channel is busy enough already.

  3. Away marks you absent so the planner stops guessing

Set away and every raid inside those dates gets an absence against your name, including raids created later. Come back early and the old sign-ups come back exactly as they were.

2 Improved

  1. The away board stopped shouting everything on one line

Every name gets its own block now, with plain Back, From and To labels underneath at a size you can actually read. Two lists: who is away now, and who goes soon. Anyone without a return date sits at the bottom of the first one, so the count beside it is the real number of owls you are missing.

  2. /away finally knows what you mean

Tell it '2 weeks', '10 august', or just 'unknown', add a reason, and set a start date if the holiday is still a fortnight off. Officers can set it for whoever DM'd them. Nobody loses a role for going away, it just pauses your nudges and puts your name up.
