Hootus comes back if you wander off mid-setup

Stop halfway through setting him up and that used to be that, forever: the link expired, every background job skipped you, and commands failed in ways that explained nothing. He now sends the person who installed him a fresh link a day later, then again after three days, then once more after a week, and then he leaves you alone. Commands answer with the setup link instead of failing, the dashboard stops claiming he is not in your server, and anyone who joined while you were still setting up gets picked up rather than left invisible.

Setup stopped having places you could get stuck

If your WoW guild was already linked to another Discord, the wizard told you to run /setup again, which changed nothing, and to ask your server admin, which was you. It now names the server holding the claim and what releases it. If Hootus is missing a permission he needs, the build step says so and still lets you carry on rather than trapping you on a disabled button, and it no longer reports channels as ready when making them failed.

When something breaks, an officer actually hears about it

Hootus has been telling people an officer had been given a hoot, and then telling nobody. Every failure went to one private inbox belonging to whoever runs the bot, and on your server that meant it went nowhere. Now a broken command or a role he could not pin goes to your officer channel, or the person who installed him, or the server owner, in that order, and the message you get says which one he actually reached. If he could not reach anyone he says that too, so you know to grab an officer yourself.

/verify stopped turning away the people it was sent to help

Five different messages told members to run /verify, and /verify told all of them they were already verified, which was not true for anyone whose verification was half-finished, held for review, or marked as having left. It now works for anyone who is not already approved, it picks a member back up properly if they left and came back, and every one of those five messages now points somewhere that actually helps.

Blizzard being down stopped looking like a typo

When the armory was unreachable Hootus told applicants to check their spelling, which sent people hunting for a mistake they had not made. He can tell the difference now: character genuinely not there, armory unreachable, realm not set up, or wrong game version, each with its own answer. The right words were already written and simply could not be reached.

The role position check stopped going green while roles still failed

Hootus only compared his own role against a couple of the roles he hands out. You would move him above the two he named, he would say everything was positioned correctly, and Raider and Guest would carry on silently failing. He now checks every role he assigns, class roles included, and he reads channel permissions rather than only server-wide ones, so a raid channel that shuts him out is something he mentions rather than something you discover on raid night.

A reminder is only ticked off when somebody got it

Raid pings, morning reminders and prep reminders were being marked as sent whether or not they left the building. A cold cache or a missing permission lost the ping for good and recorded it as delivered. Now the tick only happens on delivery, he tries again a few times, and if he truly cannot get through he tells your officers which raid and which channel rather than quietly filing it as done.
