  1. Raider counts stay right on their own now

The check that keeps the raider flag matching Discord was waiting to be switched on. It now runs every few hours by default, with the same guards: it stops if Discord does not answer, if the raider role is missing, or if it would change more than a quarter of the guild at once.

  2. Hootus has stopped telling you how many healers you need

He was showing a target of seven healers on every 25 man. Across every 25 man this guild has ever run, the average turnout is under four, so that number was never once met and never once useful. He now shows who has signed up and nothing more. If you want a target, set one on the raid and he will show yours instead.

  3. One planner, and it is the one people asked to keep

There were two, and the one most guilds were sent to was hidden behind a beta flag at a longer address. That one is now just the planner. Every link already sitting in Discord still works and gets there one hop faster.

  4. The guild page is somewhere to look, not a wall of names

It opens on who is here, what shape the roster is in, who to ask and who is away, and every card takes you somewhere. Officer work is folded into a drawer that stays shut, because a member should not have to scroll past a verification queue to find their guild.

  5. Pickup groups are open to outsiders unless you say otherwise

Every group ever posted was closed to pickups, because the setting defaulted off and lived at the bottom of an advanced panel nobody opened. It now defaults on, and the switch to close it is where you can see it. Groups also show up properly for people outside your server instead of sending them to a login wall.

  6. Officers only see the characters that are in your guild

Your alts elsewhere are yours. You still pick freely from all of them when signing up for a raid, but an officer looking you up sees only what is on their own roster.

  7. The menu fits the screen and only shows what you can open

It was overflowing on a laptop and grouping pages by nothing in particular. Items now group by who they are for, so a member sees four things and never an officer menu they cannot use.

  8. Signup links stop being a working handle a year later

A signup link pasted in a channel stayed live for a year, and anyone who could read the channel could pull someone else off the roster with it. Links now last a fortnight, which is longer than any raid is planned, and withdrawing only works for the signup you made yourself.

  9. Your recruitment page can be found by search engines

The one page built for people who are not in your guild yet was the one page Hootus told search engines to skip. That is corrected, and the sitemap now lists it along with your progression page.

  1. Every character now carries its own realm, not the guild’s

Blizzard does not send a realm name on the guild roster, only a short code, and Hootus was quietly writing the guild’s own realm onto everyone instead. On a connected realm that was wrong for one member in five, and it is why armory lookups came back empty for people who were plainly there. He now reads the code and looks up the real realm, and the next sync corrects everyone.

  2. A guild member was being dropped from the roster every hour

Two characters in one guild can share a name if they are on different realms in the same connected group. Hootus only had room for one of them, so every sync he quietly overwrote a real member with the other. He now tells them apart by the id Blizzard gives each character, which cannot collide.

  3. Raider counts now match who actually holds the raider role

The raider flag was only ever updated when someone's role changed while Hootus was watching. Set the role up after a member joined, or miss the moment, and it stayed wrong forever. He now checks against Discord and corrects himself. Some raider counts will drop sharply: that is the count being right, not people leaving.

  4. Raid invites now expire with the raid

An invite made for one raid night stayed open forever, and the code meant to revoke it had been quietly failing. Raid invites now die a few hours after the raid does. The standing invites you advertise with are untouched, because those are meant to last.

  5. Signing in no longer picks a guild for you

If you are in more than one, Hootus took whichever Discord listed first and treated it as your choice. He now asks, remembers what you picked, and says so plainly until you have picked.

  6. The signup counts on a raid finally add up

A raid could show two healers signed up when only one person had signed up at all, and a ten man could ask for eleven players. A raid running two instances counted seats for one. All three came from numbers being invented rather than counted.

  7. Hootus was writing down the wrong realm for a lot of you

Mirage Raceway is five realms wearing one name. Hootus recorded whichever one the guild sits on rather than the one your character is actually on, and got it wrong for one member in five. That is why armory lookups came back empty for people who were plainly there. He now takes the realm from Blizzard, per character, and the hourly sync keeps it right instead of stamping over it.

  8. A guild member with a shared name was being dropped every sync

Two characters in the same guild can have the same name if they are on different realms in the connected group. Hootus only had room for one of them, so every hour he quietly overwrote one real member with the other. He now tells them apart by the id Blizzard gives them, which cannot collide.

  9. Applying with a character Hootus found still told you to check your spelling

If your character came back on a version of the game the guild does not play, Hootus said he could not find them and suggested a typo. He had found them. He now says so, names the class, and tells you the spelling was never the problem. Three different doors were giving that same wrong answer and they now share one.

  10. Officer verify said Raider when it had not made anyone a raider

Tick the raider box on a verdict that lands as a guest and Hootus announced a raider, DM'd them as a raider, and told the officer he had done it. The roles were right the whole time, the reporting was not. He now says what he actually did. The class box also stops being compulsory when the roster already knows the answer.

  11. Raid edit was quietly throwing away half of what you typed

Softres link, tactics, run purpose and whether the raid is public were all accepted, acknowledged, and then dropped on the floor. They now land. Editing run purpose from the web had the same problem from the other end and also lands now.

  12. Typing a raid name where a raid id goes made the command fall over

The picker lets you type instead of choosing, and anything that was not a number took the command down with no reply at all. It now tells you it could not find that raid, which is what it always meant to say.

  13. Losing your admin role in Discord now takes effect straight away

The web checked once when you logged in and kept the answer for a week, so somebody stepped down from admin and kept the keys until their session ran out. It now asks Discord.
