Say It Straight
Hootus had a habit of rounding up. 160 members when there were 60, Guest as the shrug bucket, and a privacy page promising a wall between servers that was never there. All three now say what is true.
3 New
Hootus speaks up when one role is doing two jobs
If your member role and your guest role are the same Discord role, he cannot tell a guest from a member and everyone gets treated like a member. He now says so when he starts up, checks again every half hour, and edits the notice into a thank you once you have sorted it.
Your account menu knows where you stand
The avatar menu now shows your standing in this guild and whether Battle.net is connected, with your BattleTag when it is. Docs and support moved up to the top bar, because those are about Hootus rather than about you.
Somewhere to land when you have no guild yet
Signing in with no Hootus server used to be a dead end that said no guilds found and stopped there. It now explains what he does, points you at putting him in a server, and offers to connect Battle.net right away so your characters are waiting for you when you join one.
2 Improved
Guest is something you give, not somewhere people fall
Anyone Hootus could not place ended up with the Guest role: a mistyped name, a verification that stalled, someone who left, someone an officer turned down. Now only people you have deliberately let in get it. Everyone he cannot place gets Unverified, which is what he actually means.
The privacy page says what actually happens
It claimed every server was a sealed box. It never was. You have one identity with Hootus and your characters hang off it, much like your Battle.net account, and what stays apart is what each guild gets shown. It also said one cookie when there are three, and implied that removing the bot deletes your data when it does not. All three corrected.
3 Fixed
The guild page was counting people who are not members
It pulled in your whole Discord server and quietly turned everyone without a member record into a member card marked unverified. One guild read 160 when the honest answer was 60. Those people are real, they are just not members, so they now have their own officer list with the pickups, applicants and new arrivals split out.
Running /verify no longer takes your PUG role away
The role reconciler thought it owned the PUG role and stripped it on every pass. It does not own it, the pickup lifecycle does. It cannot reach it now, by design rather than by good intentions.
Signing in without a guild no longer shows you someone elses
Sign in while not being in any server that runs Hootus and he handed you a session pointed at a guild you had nothing to do with. Fixed at the session, and at the two other places that were quietly putting it back.
