Somebody Pays For The Perch
The box Hootus runs on charges by the month whether or not anyone raids on Tuesday, so there is now a tip jar and a wall of names for the people who chip in. Nothing behind it is locked, nothing about it is a tier. The rest of the release is text you can actually read and a pile of things that were quietly wrong.
3 New
Feed the Owl, if you feel like it
Hosting is not free and the bill arrives whether Karazhan clears or wipes on trash. There is now a page where you can put something toward it, pay what you think it is worth, once, nothing renews. It buys you no roles, no queue priority and no features. What it can buy, if you tick the box, is your name on the supporters page, and the amount beside it if you tick the other one. Both start unticked and you can change your mind afterwards.
A wall of names, sorted by the alphabet and nothing else
Whoever gave most is not at the top, because there is no top. Guilds get a count of how many of their raiders are up there, never a total in pounds, which would let anyone work out what the quiet ones gave. You can leave a message too. A human reads it before it appears anywhere.
Soft reserves you can actually turn on
The built-in list has been finished for a while with no switch anywhere to reach it. There is one now, on the planner, and it fills in the instance from the raid itself. The item picker shows item level and quality colour so three items with the same name stop looking identical, and a MoP guild running Ulduar can finally find the loot.
2 Improved
Text you can read without leaning in
Five hundred and thirty-nine hand-picked pixel sizes across a hundred and forty-seven files, some of them nine pixels tall, all gone. Everything now sits on one scale with a floor you can read on a phone. Roster tables, the planner, badges and settings all grew a little, and the handful of boxes that were sized around the old tiny text grew with them.
The guides and the contact form are reachable from the menu
Every page linked into the docs and the support form, and nothing linked to them from the navigation, so you could only find them by landing somewhere that mentioned them. Both are in the menu and the footer now. Posting a group moved onto the browse page it belongs to, and a character link that had been pointing at a dead armory for a while is gone.
3 Fixed
The calendar feed had every raid running four hours
It ignored the duration you set and booked four hours regardless, so a two and a half hour Kara run ate your evening on paper. It also chewed up any raid name with an emoji in it. Both fixed. A feed also stops serving the moment you leave the guild, which it did not before.
A raid that failed to post no longer stays invisible
If Discord refused the message when a raid was created, nothing ever tried again, because nothing else was going to happen to that raid. Hootus now sweeps for them every few minutes and posts the ones that should have gone out, while refusing drafts, cancelled nights and anything more than five hours past its start.
Absent is not a maybe, and a maybe is not a seat
The raid embed counted tentatives in some places and not others, so the same night could read two different ways depending on where you looked. One rule now: absences take no seat and are invisible, maybes sit in their own field, and the count is the confirmed body.
