Who's In, Who's Looking

Hootus put your guild on a public list for the people hunting one, and stopped assuming every name on the roster is a full member. You say which ranks count. Trials get their own role, if you run them.

3 New1 Improved2 Fixed

3 New

  1. A list of guilds that are actually recruiting

`/guilds` shows every guild with recruitment open: realm, faction, the specs they are short on, and how many raids they have run lately. Your public guild page already existed, but the only way to reach it was a link somebody sent you. If you would rather not be on the list, the switch is in settings.

  2. Say which in-game ranks count as a member

Blizzard hands over rank numbers and never rank names, so the picker shows each rank with its headcount and a few characters sitting on it, then previews exactly who would stop counting before you save. Touch nothing and every rank counts, which is what already happens today.

  3. Trials, for the guilds that run them

Turn trials on, tell Hootus which role means trial and which rank earns it, and he keeps it in sync on top of Member. Leave it off and he will not touch a role called Trial, because then it is yours and none of his business.

1 Improved

  1. A straight answer about soft reserves

The site and the guides led with a reserve list Hootus runs himself. The thing guilds actually use is a softres.it link, which he carries onto the signup post, the reminder, and the DM when the raid locks. His own list still works and is still there, now labelled the beta it always was.

2 Fixed

  1. He said an applicant raided with you when they had not

Share a name with someone on another realm and you could turn up on the officer screen with a confident raid history that belonged to a stranger. Hootus now says out loud when a match is name-only, and a pickup run that was mostly other guilds no longer counts as raiding with yours.

  2. The public listing switch was lying about itself

Public guild pages are on unless you say otherwise, but the toggle in settings read as off until you touched it. Save anything else on that page and you quietly opted out of something you never knew you were in. It now shows the truth.
